Hindsight is a private space where your family or close friends answer questions together and keep the answers as a shared archive. Your memories belong to you — this policy explains exactly what we store and why.
What we collect
- Account details — your name, and your email address if you sign up with email, Apple or Google. You can use Hindsight anonymously before signing up.
- Your content — the answers you write, record or film, time capsules, reactions, and the questions you choose. These are only ever visible to the members of your circle (and, for addressed capsules, only the recipient).
- Birth year (optional) — used solely to show ages in the Generational Mirror.
- Push token — if you allow notifications, a device token so we can tell you when a new question lands or someone answers.
What we never do
- We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- We don't run third-party ads or tracking.
- Your contacts stay on your device — picking people from your contacts happens locally; we only store the names/details of people you explicitly invite.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored with Supabase (our database and storage provider) in the EU (Stockholm region). Voice notes and videos are stored privately and served only through short-lived signed links to members of your circle.
Your rights
- Export — you can export all of your answers free, any time, from Settings.
- Deletion — you can delete your account and all of your content from Settings → Delete my account. This is immediate and permanent. Circles you created are handed to another member so their memories aren't lost.
